Open Source Software For Digital Library

Abstract


Libraries have got a new outlook in the age of information communication technology. New and advanced technologies have brought significant changes from collection of books to a single window knowledge bank. Open source software has opened up new vistas in the arena of library automation. This paper highlights the definition and features of open source library management software, advantages and limitations which are useful for developing digital library and institutional repositories.
