Bibliometric Analysis of Open Access Journals in Mathematics Indexed in DOAJ Database

Abstract


Abstract The article reports the findings of bibliometric analysis of open access journals available in the subject of ‘Mathematics’ indexed in directory of open access journals (DOAJ). The bibliometric attributes used are; journals with subject heading ‘mathematics’, country of publication, language used in journals, publisher of journals, co-relation of mathematical journals with other subject fields, peer review policy, archiving policy, security and standard features followed by journals. Total 556 journals in mathematics are analyzed in the study. Some of findings of the study are; maximum journals in mathematics are indexed under ‘science’ subject heading; maximum number of journals were added in year 2013, maximum number of journals are published in ‘print’ format; Hindawi Publishing Corporation has the largest collection of journals in mathematics, India is leading contributor for mathematical journals; ‘Portico’ is the major archiving agency; and maximum journals indexed in DOAJ do not have any processing charges for the publication of articles.
