Abstract

Wrought aluminium-zinc-magnesium copper (AA7000) series alloys have commonly used in aerospace industry and super-jet boats industry due to their high strength-to-weight ratio, toughness and resistance to fatigue. Variation in medium of exposure varies fatigue crack growth rates in these alloys. Stress corrosion crack is resisted by fine precipitates in alloys. Organic corrosion inhibitors are supposed to be mandatory from environmental legislation. Radioactive pitting corrosion has inhibited by conversion coatings.
