Nardia assamica (Mitt.) Amakawa (Jungermanniaceae), from Malabar Wildlife Sanctuary, a New Record for Peninsular India
Abstract
The paper reports the occurrence of Nardia assamica (Mitt.) Amakawa, belonging to the family Jungermanniaceae, a rare leafy liverwort from Malabar Wildlife Sanctuary, Kerala. It is very small and tufted plant, seen on vertical soil cuttings. This endemic Indian species so far is known from Himalayas only, hence reported here with detailed taxonomic description and photographs.
