Abstract

Abstract
An efficient protocol for axillary bud proliferation and direct organogenesis has been developed in Aristolochia tagala Cham. through in vitro propagation technique. Nodal segments and shoot tips were cultured on Murashige and Skoog’s media (MS media) supplemented with various concentrations of growth hormones. MS media fortified with BAP 1 mg/L and half-strength MS media with IBA 2 mg/L were found to be the best for inducing shoots and roots respectively.
