Zingiber officinale Rosc.: A Monographic Review
Abstract
ABSTRACT
Zingiber officinale Rosc. is native to Asia and is widely used as a culinary spice. It is well known in herbal medicine for stomachache, diarrhoea, nausea, etc. Modern interest in ginger is focused on its use in the prevention of nausea and vomiting, particularly motion sickness, as a digestive aid, and as an adjunctive treatment for inflammatory conditions, such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. So, the present paper is a review study of the drug, its phytochemistry, action and uses, ethnobotanical uses, cultivation and propagation.
