Abstract

Abstract

Urdbean [Vigna mungo (L.) Hepper] also called black gram, is one of the major kharif pules crop in India. Many diseases are known to attack Urdbean, among them, Cercospora leaf spot (Cercospora canescens Ell. and Mart.) and anthracnose (Colletotrichum lindemuthianum) are the most prevailing diseases of India. A combination of three fungicides viz., Indofil M 45, Hexaconazol + Mancozeb and Companion at different concentrations were applied on two varieties of urdbean i.e., NDU-3-5 and OBG-31 for controlling the Cercospora leaf spot and anthracnose disease. The applications were made by foliar sprayings in a field trail during Kharif, 2008-09 and 2009-10 at N.D. University of Agriculture and Technology, Faizabad. All the fungicides significantly reduced the incidence of diseases as compared to control.
