Role of Herbs in the Formulation of Cosmetics

Abstract


The thought of beauty and cosmetics dates back to ancient mankind and civilization. Plants extremely used for development of recent drug for cosmeceuticals and pharmaceutical applications. Herbal cosmetics are the products used in crude or extract it by herbs. Products are developed using multiple permissible cosmetic ingredients to form the basis on which one or more herbal components are used to provide specified cosmetic benefits only, shall be called as “Herbal Cosmetics”. Herbs do not produce instant cures. A huge range of cosmetic and toiletry formulations are designed and developed primarily based upon Indian Herbs. Some contemporary studies have also used the usefulness of Indian herbs in Personal Care products other than traditionally documented applications. The usefulness of Indian herbs in personal care products has also been used in some contemporary studies. Due to their skin friendliness and absence of side effects, the demand for herbal medicines is growing quickly. The natural content of the herbs has no side effects on the human body; instead, nutrients and other helpful minerals are provided to the body.
