Ashok Chal (Saraka indica Linn.) for Women’s Health: A Literary Review

Abstract


The ashok tree is one of the most antique herbal plants used since ancient times by the ancient physicians for various women’s health conditions. Ashok means without sorrow as it keeps the women healthy and youthful. It is distributed in various parts of India and is obtained easily. It has various pharmacological activates which were proven by several pharmacological and clinical trials. It has been appropriately said to be a companion of women as it restores the female reproductive system and is healthy in treating different gynecological issues. This review paper elaborated the medicinal values of this great plant.
