Design Analysis of Micro-Strip Moody Patch Antenna For Space Application

Devendra Sharma, Charanjeet Singh

Abstract

Micro-strip antennas are frequently used in wireless applications. There are well known beneficial mechanical characteristics like low profile, planar but conformal to non-planar, easy to fabricate and light weight. Micro-strip antenna has flexibility in the term of electromagnetic parameter like gain, radiation pattern and polarization. In the application of spacecraft, missile and satellite application the antenna requirement is micro-strip due to their light weight, size, cost, performance, low profile and ease of installation. In this paper circular patch antenna for space application is designed at 5.56 GHz.  Simulation of antenna array are done by HFSS (high frequency structure simulator) v13.0 are used for calculation of antenna parameter like gain of antenna, return loss, radiation pattern and VSWR of antenna.
