Investigating the Quality of Online Education from University-level Students' Perspective in Bangladesh

Abstract


Coronavirus disease has disrupted the global education system in the year 2020. An online teaching platform was the only alternative to the face-to-face classroom teaching to continue educational activities. The main purpose of the study was to assess the quality of online education from the perceptive of university-level students in Bangladesh. The research found that the class materials, the interaction between teacher and students, interaction among students, technical support availability from university, and class duration were essential for student satisfaction. It is also observed that the unplanned teaching and a rapid move to online learning without training, insufficient bandwidth, and little preparation affect learning outcomes. The main three factors: `lecture materials and interaction between teacher and students', `Institutional support and helpfulness of teacher', and 'Lecture period and Course structure', influenced the students to regularly participate in online classes.
