Student Evaluation of Project Based Learning method in Undergraduate Physics Lab
Abstract
This paper describes a new method of executing laboratory sessions. This has been tried with second year undergraduate students who have gone through a traditional way of performing predesigned experiments in a prescribed manner during their first year of university physics. In this method, students worked in pairs. They were assigned a project topic based on the theory course syllabus designed for them. Projects were evaluated on the basis of various skills required for overall execution of project. Later, written feedback was taken from the class of 70 second year Physics students. This paper also describes analysis of data collected from the students which was largely positive. A summary of method applied and feedback analysis is presented.
