Changing Attitudes of College Girls in Society: A Current Challenge

Abstract


Today’s college going female is undergoing the process of identity formation. She revised and redefined the ideas, images and mediums of herself. The status of women in India has been subject to many great changes over the past few millenniums. In the age of technology and multimedia women too are affected by it. The present study highlights the attitudinal changes among college girls of society as a result of various factors. It also throws light on their lifestyle concerns and the requirement to “keep pace” with the latest trends. This study focuses on the change of opinions among present day college going youth impacted by the modern science and technological advancements. It attempts to understand the change in opinion among students with decreased state support of higher education. Thus, this study goes some way to expose ongoing tensions surrounding the present day college youth. It analytically highlights the changing trends among college students, particularly their present commitment and future goals. Hence this study critically re-establishes the impact of attitudinal changes on their life in particular and society in general. Its prime focus is to know the root cause of these attitudinal changes so that one can set the course of ones action to deal with the current challenge of attitudinal changes among young females in society.
