Action Research TPM Model for the Implementation of TPM Concept in a Technical Educational Institutions for Improving the Skill Developmental Aspects

Abstract


In the total global industrial arena today, total productive maintenance (TPM) is best used concept for improving the effectiveness of existing systems; at present, it is used by all most all manufacturing sectors predominantly in automotive manufacturing industries. The TPM application provides companies with a guide to fundamentally convert their shop floor by integrating culture, process, and technology. “TPM can go beyond maintenance” the study gives the good evidence that the TPM can be used beyond maintenance like fulfilment of its basic requirements can significantly improve the achievement of organizational goals beyond the equipment maintenance-subsystem goals and add set of benefits in the many areas. The “TPM can go beyond Maintenance” statement encourages to use TPM beyond Maintenance, for example, one area will be in the technical education sector mainly in the technical institutes where lot of equipment and machinery play a major role in quality training. This study focuses on the understanding institution scenario and the TPM implementation requirements of the institute and develop action research TPM model for the implementation of TPM concept in technical educational institutions for improving the skill developmental aspects.
