Make a Comparative Study of Open Source Software DSpace and EPrints Digital Library Software

Abstract


Due to an ever-increasing cost of commercial software, library professionals have seriously consider the use of open sources for building digital libraries as open source software. Nowadays, open source software packages are gaining popularity. There are a number of software packages available for developing digital libraries. This study tries to make out the comparative analysis of the two most popular systems for creation of digital library—DSpace and EPrints. As of June 10, 2018, ROAR has recorded 1,832 and 655 implementations of DSpace and EPrints, respectively.
