Implementation of Literacy Programmes in Autonomous Engineering College Libraries in Karnataka

Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine the implementation of Literacy programmes in Autonomous engineering college libraries in Karnataka. The researcher formed a structured questionnaire, surveyed and reviewed the publications on literacy programmes. Findings- It may be observed from the study that all autonomous engineering college libraries were conducted information literacy programmes for users. Best practice of Information literacy programmes effects on users benefits in the library, helps to improve of search skills and increase the research output of the users and all libraries were promoted their resources by implementing various methods. The study covered 14 Autonomous Engineering College Libraries in Karnataka affiliated to Visveswaraya Technological University (VTU) and this covered the all four regions (Bengaluru, Mysuru, Belagavi and Kalburgi) VTU.
