Abstract

The study defines the concept of stock verification and describes different policy issues, the frequency with which the job of stock verification should be undertaken and norms for inevitable losses as well as using stock verification methods, reasons of stock verification, attitudes of library staff towards stock verification and responsibility for losses of books in the college libraries of Bundelkhand University, Jhansi. The article also highlights the advantage of stock verification with special reference to academic libraries.
