Abstract

Abstract
The main aim to carry out the study was to analyse the availability of the openly accessible journals in the field of botany indexed by Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). The data were collected from the DOAJ and websites (homepages) of the botany journals, in the month of July 2018. The data was analysed using the quantitative techniques. The results show that a good number of open access journals in the field of botany are available in DOAJ. With regard of the nations, the maximum number of journals is published from the Brazil (14; 12.61%) and in the English language (104; 93.69%) in the subject of botany (75; 67.56%). The results also depict that the majority of the botany journals (72; 64.86%) and majority of journals have DOAJ seal (99; 89.18%). The results cannot be generalised as the study is confined only to the Directory of Open Access Journal (DOAJ).
