Abstract
This paper aims at exploring the literature available on the evaluation of online resources on the basis of their search interfaces. The available literature is scanned deeply in order to discover the preferable works related to the evaluation of search interfaces. Various online resources like search engines, databases, e-journals, etc., are used to retrieve the necessary literature. The main purpose of this work is to identify, explore and document the literature pertaining to various aspects of search and retrieval efficiency of different online resources. This further provides an insight into the trends in available literature pertaining to different aspects of retrieval efficiency of such tools. The study divulges that not much of the work has been done in this field and research scholars can find a lot more areas to study upon. The study is first of its kind and makes an endeavor to review the literature in the field of search user interface evaluation.
