Optimizing Electronic Resource Accessibility and Utilization: Strategic Suggestions for RTU-Affiliated Institute Libraries

This research article is based on the future strategy of libraries based on the research study done on the availability and use of e-resources in the libraries of institutions affiliated to Rajasthan Technical University (RTU). The article presents strategic recommendations aimed at shaping the libraries of the future. These recommendations include selection process of e-resources, IT infrastructure development in libraries, need for IT skilling in library staff and best practices for optimum use of e-resources etc. A detailed analysis is done on how RTU-affiliated libraries can be established as hubs of innovation and knowledge dissemination by incorporating these recommendations into various libraries. All the recommendations are made on the basis of the results of the study and discussion on the adequacy and utilization of e-resources in the libraries of selected engineering institutes affiliated to RTU and the author's visit to various libraries and the possibility of landscape development of libraries in present and future.
