Synthesis and Antimicrobial Activity of New Heterocyclic Compound Containing 5-Bromobenzofuran
Abstract
Several pyridine derivatives were synthesized via reaction of 2-acetyl 5-bromobenzofuran and 1,3-diphenyl-1 H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde 2 gave chalcone 3 which was exploited as a starting material. Structures of newly synthesized derivatives were confirmed by elemental analysis, spectral data, chemical transformation and alternative synthetic route whenever possible. Also, the newly synthesized derivatives were screened towards some microorganism.
