Abstract

The extract of Murraya Koenigii commonly known as curry leaves in India was carried out to investigate the anti-cancer activity on human lung’s cells. The result shows positive indication of extract against lungs cancer cells efficiently with GI 50 value >80. The human lung’s cells were fixed in situ by the gentle addition of 50 μl of cold 30 % (w/v) TCA (final concentration, 10 % TCA) and incubated for 60 minutes at 4°C. Using the six absorbance measurements [time zero (Tz), control growth (C), and test growth in the presence of drug at the four concentration levels (Ti)]; the percentage growth was calculated at each of the drug concentration levels. The study points out towards the direction of use of Murraya Koenigii extract in the field of cancer treatment in future with the combination of advanced technologies in the field of medicines. The study was carried out on human lungs cells to treat the lung’s cancer which is the kind of cancer initiating at lungs due to the deposition of cough in lungs from long time. Because of huge traditional background about the medicinal properties of Murraya Koenigii as well as its uses as spice’s ingredients in India, it becomes more convenient to carry out the investigation and application of extract for the treatment of lung cancer.
