Periwinkle: A Valuable Therapeutic Plant

Abstract


Periwinkle is a familiar decorative plant grown in the gardens of housing and official surroundings. Periwinkle is native of South-Eastern and Eastern Madagascar found growing as wild plant species in rain forests. The plant possesses numerous alkaloids which are valuable in treatment of hypertension, insomnia, insanity, cholera and blood cancer (leukaemia).
