Abstract

The teaching of complicated subjects like that of the digital number system, presents extensive comprehension difficulties to students. This is attributed due to the lack of didactics and pedagogical competencies of young teachers. However through problem solving based learning techniques employed by students/teachers, the subjects can be made interesting and simple. The modus operandi is by using a structured problem solving terminology and steps. This case study attempts to exemplify the teaching of digital number system to the students of electronics and communication engineering and computer science. The learning may be laterally explored to facilitate most of difficult engineering subjects.
