Investigation into the Use of Social Media by Selected Hotels in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria

Abstract


Many organizations today use social media as a vehicle to reach out to millions of customers. Hospitality business also has joined in the new age interactive media for marketing and public relations. This study is therefore focused on the use of social media by hotels in Akure, Ondo State. The purpose is to create the awareness for hotels on the benefits of the use of social media. 150 respondents for the study were selected by simple random sampling from among the management, staff and customers of three four-star hotels in Akure. Structured and unstructured, questionnaire were designed to collect data which were analyzed using simple percentages.
