Abstract

Openness as a widespread means to disseminate information, if sometimes unnoticed, lineage in education. Before the advent of Internet, information was distributed, through the use of post, radio and television and, now through the medium of digital technologies and, is extending learning prospects to more people and distant learners. This paper focuses on the significant developments in the area of open education, in precise the character that open educational repositories (OER) can perform in advanced education, schooling, learning and scholarship.
