Abstract
Library is heart of an organization. Emerging trend of the ICT has changed the form of the data available in digital format. Library has the collection of books (reference, text, handbook etc), journals (regular, bound volumes), and newspapers, etc. in hard copy format. Because of new technologies, these materials are available in electronic format. Huge amount of information is now there in one click on internet. Knowledge is available in all formats in the age of computer science. Data explosion gives huge amount of information / knowledge in every area of interest. In this era of data explosion, user requirements are increasing for extra knowledge of their interest every day. In the ocean of knowledge users are confused how to search data and select the appropriate data or information of their use. Knowledge organization helps user to search data. Knowledge organization has to collect, store and give access of data to user. In libraries, knowledge organization is done through document description, indexing, classification.
