Indian E-Learning Platform SWAYAM: An Overview

Abstract

The main aim of the research paper is to enhance the awareness and increase the reach of library professionals towards SWAYAM e-learning program. It is a path-breaking initiative of the government aimed at providing quality education to large number of students pursuing higher education in Universities and Colleges. The paper also mentioned the various courses useful for librarians offered by SWAYAM portal. The program will make available quality teachers to pupils and multi-language study material including in regional languages to get them started quickly. The program is of a Massive Open Online courses (MOOC) Learning format and seeks to provide the experts for students across the country with ICT solutions to bridge the gap between urban and rural education.
