Library Leadership and Competencies: Essence of The Hour

The concept of Leadership is not a new phenomenon and it becomes essential in all the sectors and Library and Information science is not an exception to it. Looking at the current situation of working togetherness and team spirit, today Leadership is one of the specialized areas being emphasized today as one of the key competency for teaching and practicing librarians. This study explores the significance of library leadership and competencies involved for better productivity, visibility and development of functional and library system.
