Abstract

Abstract
This study aims to investigate the effects of four beliefs of a group of end users on the adoption of ERP systems. These beliefs are constructed based on Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The beliefs examined were perceived usefulness, ease of use, expected capability, and expected value. One of the United Nations (UN) organizations has been selected as a case study for the research. A population of staff comprised from Human Resources and Payroll department has been selected to participate in this survey. The selection was due to their daily involvement and interaction with the ERP system. The total population of staff in both departments is 65 people. However, out of 65 respondents, only 51 respondents were participated in the survey. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The validity and the reliability of the data collection instrument were tested using the exploratory factor analysis and Cronbach's Alpha coefficients, respectively. The hypotheses then were tested using multiple regression analysis. The result found that the perceived ease of use and the expected value of ERP system to have a significant direct effect on the acceptance of ERP system. However, the perceived usefulness and expected capability did not have a direct significant effect on acceptance of ERP systems. This provides the evidence that the user’s positive feeling towards the ease of use of ERP system is related with sustained use of the ERP itself. The expected value of the ERP system also depends on the compatibility of the system itself. This study provides insights for organizations implementing ERP systems in evaluating their user’s perception in all ERP lifecycle phase; pre-implementation, operation and post-implementation phase.
