University Libraries in Kashmir: Present Status of Resources and Services

Abstract


The purpose of this study is to find the present status of resources and services available in eight libraries of the universities in Kashmir, as no such work has been carried out previously. For this study survey method has been adopted and questionnaires used as an instrument to collect data about the resources available in each case for their users. The paper also attempts to build a correlation between the resources and users on one hand and on the other what type of services are rendered by professionals in each case in a given situation for carrying the operations of library and cater the needs of users efficiently.
