Oncology is the branch of medical science dealing with tumors, including the origin, development, diagnosis and treatment of malignant neoplasm. Researchers collected total 892 unique records spanning over the year 2013–2017 and each record contains English language abstract with the bibliographic information. The downloaded data is analyzed for source items to find out the research trend. The downloaded data has been stored in MS-Excel files for further analysis. The research productivity on oncology by the global scientists is accounted to 47088. The Indian scientists’ publications are 892 in total, which started with 107 from 2013 to 254 in 2017. The USA was the most productive country with 44.06% of global share of publications on oncology and 50% of the records on oncology subject. Majority of the publications in the form of journal articles with 582 (65.25%) records, only 46 publications (5.16) appeared as single-authored publications and other publications were with more than one author.
