Assessment of ICT Literacy Skills of Library and Information Professionals in Selected University Libraries in Gujarat, India
Abstract
This study presents the systematic overview of ICT literacy among the library professionals working in the university libraries in Gujarat. It provides an overview of current literacy of library professionals in the use of ICT-based tools, resources, services, library automation software, digital library software and institutional repository etc. The study helps to identify the training methods attained by library and information professionals to improve the level of ICT literacy. It also analyzes the problems and challenges faced by library professionals to uplift the level of ICT literacy. The outcome of the study would be helpful to ascertain the current ICT literacy level of library professionals working in university libraries in Gujarat and allow library professionals to increase their efforts to enhance the ICT literacy skills.
