Use and Awareness of E-Databases in Engineering College Faculties of Karnataka: An Analytical Study

This paper aims to assess and evaluate the use of e-database in engineering college libraries of Karnataka, use of e-databases by the faculty members of various engineering colleges through a survey based on a structured questionnaire. Various statistical methods have been used for data analysis. The study confirmed that faculty members are aware of the edatabases and various types of e-resources, e-thesis, and e-journals. The highly significant difference ( 2=2306; P<0.000) among the respondents with regard to the use of ‘IEEE’ (The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers)’ many respondents scoring 170(48.6%) says ‘agree’. E-databases are playing major role in engineering college libraries.
