Opinion of Young Adults towards Collection Management of Public Libraries in Karnataka

Abstract
The paper aims to look at the Young Adult Public Library (YAPL) users’ opinion towards collection of public libraries in Karnataka. A well thought-out questionnaire was administered to gather data by using random sampling method and collected data were analyzed with the help of SPSS version 16. The key findings of the current study are; Majority of the respondents numbering 775 (75.9%) are male, nearly 457 (44.8%) users are UG degree holders, majority scoring 852 (83.4%) of users were unmarried. Users have a good opinion about the print collections like reference and educational books and they are also satisfied with general magazines. Users are not satisfied with non-print collections of the library. So public library needs to concentrate on build up non-print collections to serve the users effectively.
