Contribution to the Embryology of Alysicarpus tetragonolobus Edgew

Chetna Laddha

Abstract

Abstract

In the present article embryology of Alyscarpus tetragonolobus Edgew is described. The anther wall comprises the epidemis, the fibrous endothecium, two celled stage. The ovule is campylotropus. Crassinucellate and bitegmic. The archesporial in the ovule is hypodermal and cuts off a parietal cell. Embryo sac development conforms to the Monosporic polygonum type. Endosperm development is nuclear. The chalazal part of the endosperm remains free nuclear. Embryogeny conforms to the first grand period Megarchetype VI and Series A2. The embryogenic classification of the tribe is discussed in the light of the present observations and earlier reports.
