Assessment of Groundwater Quality of Deoli Tehsil (Tonk District, Rajasthan) with Special Emphasis on Nitrate Analysis
Abstract
High nitrate level in water can cause methemoglobinemia or blue baby syndrome, a condition found especially in infants under six months. For this study, 40 samples were collected from different villages of Deoli tehsil, Tonk, Rajasthan, India during the premonsoon 2011 in clean polyethylene bottles. The nitrate concentration along with physicochemical parameters in drinking water samples was determined by using standard techniques.
