Abstract

Abstract
Cladocera are commonly known as “water flea”. They play an important role in food chain, benthic trophodynamics. Cladocera species are primary consumers and feed on the microscopic algae and the fine particulate matter in debris which is influencing transformation of matter and energy in benthos. The Cladocera are the most useful zooplankton and form the most dominant groups of fish food organisms. Present Cladocera in the Gorja Lake near Bhadrawati town was studied from June 2014 to May 2016 during total nine species of Cladocera were recorded in three sites of Gorja Lake.
