Development of Analytical Profiles on Bacopa monnieri (L.) Wettst. (Brahmi) Resourced form Different Ecological Habitats

ABSTRACT
Bacopa monnieri (L.) Wettst of the family Scrophulariaceae (Brahmi) has been used from time immemorial for its positive impact upon memory; also used in Alzheimer’s disease. This drug enjoys official status in various pharmacopoeias viz. Ayurvedic, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy. It is very often adulterated with Centella asiatica (L.) Urb. Present study deals with the detailed anatomical characters, phyto-chemical analysis and HPTLC finger print profile of this important drug collected form three different ecological habitats.
