Medical Tourism in India for Ayurveda

Abstract


Medical tourism in India is the term used for the foreigners visiting India for availing cheap and best medical facilities as compared to its availability in other countries. The purview of Medical tourism entails travelling because of health related issues with respect to their purpose of recovery. Like food and shelter, healthcare is the basic necessity for humanity. New India holds itself as a healthcare destination, major source of foreign exchange earnings of country are held by healthcare tourism or the medical tourism. Ayurveda being the basic Indian system of medicine has contributed a lot to grab the foreign exchange by the means of medical tourism in India. Impressive strides have been made by Indian healthcare system during the recent years that has projected India globally as “healthcare hub”. There could be more scope in this field, if all the requirements regarding Ayurvedic therapies and medical tourism are facilitated.
