In the present study, nickel ferrite nanoparticles (NFNPs) doped with copper was synthesized by chemical co-precipitation method (CBD) and characterized for phase composition and magnetic properties by x-ray diffraction (XRD) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The results confirmed the formation of Ni0.5Cu0.5Fe2O4 with the average crystallite size (D) 15.45 nm and 18.14 nm and saturation magnetization (Ms) were observed as 16.16 Gauss and 22.58 Gauss at 300˚C and 500˚C temperature respectively. The results are appropriate as previously reported experimentalist. Apart from their promising magnetic properties, NFNPs have now been explored for their adsorptive and catalytic properties for remediation of heavy metals and organic contaminants.
