The statistical requirements of research, technology, industry, and government are enormous and expanding rapidly, resulting in a statistical worker shortage. The exponential development in processing power and data collection capabilities is partly to blame for the rise in demand for data analysis. Simultaneously, there is a concerning trend among quantitative investigators and technical employees to approach problems with crude equipment and unsophisticated attitudes. Our discipline has produced a wealth of instruments.
