Respiratory Disease in Dog: A Case Study
Abstract
Many infectious agents cause main or secondary respiratory illness in dogs. These agents can trigger veterinary procedures such as frequently observed upper or lower respiratory infections. Clinical signs with systemic manifestations may differ from mild dyspnea, sneezing, and coughing to serious pneumonia. The gross and microscopic modifications observed during these diseases may be somewhat unspecific or have extremely distinctive patterns, depending on the etiologic agent. While histopathology and cytology are not always necessary for the diagnosis of respiratory infections, they are often helpful for definitive diagnosis and the identification of particular etiological agents.
