Tacit Knowledge Turning Explicit: A Web 2.0 Effect

Abstract

The paper discusses the web 2.0 tools and its contribution to the Knowledge management by using the tools like, wikis, blogs, podcasts, social media, etc. The paper focused on the knowledge being recorded on Web 2.0 tools and excludes that it is recorded in conventional knowledge containers like books, journals, periodicals. It is the tacit knowledge, which remains unpublished. The paper emphasizes the fact that, the tacit knowledge may turn into explicit if recorded on the web 2.0 tools such as wikis, blogs etc.. On the other hand, if one’s knowledge is not recorded on wikis/blogs, it may remain tacit, despite the collaborative environment.
