E- Content Development and Management: Initiatives of INFLIBNET

In this information age, students now a days preferring E-learning instead of classroom learning. Now a day’s every student has an access to internet through any electronic device. Hence access to E content is very easy and much more feasible as compared to the traditional way of learning. Government of India is also taking initiatives for implementing new technologies in higher education. Smart classrooms are developed in each and every educational institute. With the help of projector screens teachers are teaching very enthusiastically.This study talks about how to develop e content, what are the models of e content, Standards and Tools of e content, Initiatives taken by UGC,MHRD and INFLIBNET.Role of librarians in e content development is also discussed in this paper.
