Government Initiatives for Digital India

The present paper takes an account of digitalization of processes of e-governance. The brief accounts on initiatives taken by central government for the digitalization have been discussed in this paper. Also an attempt has been made to find out the outcomes of these digitalization initiatives. The broadband highway intends to cover 2,50,000 Gram Panchayats. Access to mobile connectivity is going to be implemented through DoT. Central government has decided to bring reforms through technology. Electronic manufacturing has a goal of reducing the imports of electronic products. The initiatives taken by central government have been proved to be very important in context of good governance. The initiatives of digilocker has provided best platform for keeping the important documents in the safe virtual custody of digilocker. Aadhaar is a unique identification number which provides digital identity of citizens of India. Also the IT solutions the digital initiatives have helped in the reduction of operational costs. The government of India has given emphasized the use of ICT in the Classrooms. It is our experience that demonetisation has compelled the people make transactions in digital form. The smart city is a flagship programme of the government of India. Thus, the present research paper has thrown the light on the efforts taken by the central government in the implementation of digitalisation of India.
