Awareness of Reference Management Software in an Academic Environment

Abstract

The use of the Reference Management Software’s and service given by the librarian to their user were the main part of this study. Respondents were college librarians Affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. Awareness of RMS and Citation style, queries about RMS, Difficulties, reasons of using and user limitation etc. all these aspects covered in this study. End Note was the commercial product that suggested by the librarian to the users. Most of the librarians were given preference to the open source software. Zotero was largely preferred product by the librarians. Online support and updating were the important factors in the facing the difficulties.
