Cotton is mainly a fiber yielding crop of worldwide importance. India is the first country for the marketable cultivation of hybrid cotton. It is one of the mainly significant commercial crops of India and is the only major natural source of fiber. It plays a prevailing role in its Agrarian and industrialized country as the backbone of fabric industry, which consumes 70% of the country's total fiber yield. Thus, cotton production plays a very important role in Indian economy, providing employment for more than one million farmers and employees in the domestic fabric industry. Despite the fact that Bt cotton has been lifting waves of objection in India and other parts of the world, one of its old time cousins is making a quiet come back. It is the naturally coloured cotton; cotton gifted with natural colors. Colored cotton is not a creation of any modern genetic engineering or biotechnology. In actual fact, biotechnology is yet to make a mark on coloured cotton. Natural Color Cotton is a naturally pigmented fiber that grows in shades of green, brown and beige. The cotton plants are also hardy and naturally resistant to pests, eradicating the need for environmentally damaging pesticides and insecticides. The entire procedure from planting to growing to spinning to readymade garments utilizes no dyes, toxic or harmful materials. It is 100% pure and natural. It is the most ecologically green product.
