Techniques on Assessment of Nutritional and Medicinal Values of Plants Used in Tribal Areas

Abstract


The present paper focuses on the nutritional and medicinal properties of plants from tribal areas of Maharashtra. The diet we consume includes vegetables, fruits, cereals, grains, legumes, nuts, spices, oils etc. and tribal areas are abundant sources of these. The tribes have built up their own particular strategies for pharmacopeia and the nutritious propensities for their customary information about therapeutic and healthful uses; they likewise utilize wild plants for sustenance, grain development material, fuel, wood and different purposes.
