Chemical Constituents from High Altitude Herbs of Kumaun Himalaya: Swertia Purpurascens Wall

ABSTRACT
A rare triterpenoid queretoric acid from Swertia purpurascens Wall. (Gentianaceae) has been isolated along with β-sitosterol-D-glycoside, oleanolic acid. Except oleanolic acid these two compounds for the first time have been reported from this plant source and identified by means of chemical as well as spectroscopic methods.
